WELCOME

St Michael’s RC Primary School is a Catholic family
of faith, following the teaching of Christ. We strive
to create an environment where all members of our
school community become caring, independent and
resilient individuals who fulfil their potential.

Well done everyone. St Michael's is top of Medway's primary school performance tables.

Welcome to St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery. We serve the local community providing a Catholic education within our whole school ethos embedded in Christian values. Our school values are called CIRCLE values and stand for Care, Independence, Resilience, Church, Learning and Enjoyment. We encourage our whole school community to follow these values to ensure that we all conduct ourselves with respect as individuals created by Christ.

Our whole staff, whether teaching or support, strive to provide our children with a world class education to equip them with the tools that they will need to lead successful and aspirational lives - always striving for the best that they can be.

I am honoured to be the Head Teacher of this school with its atmosphere of learning, fun and enjoyment. I hope you find this website helpful and informative. However this is only a snap shot of what we provide for our children and for all the adults working in our school community. Please do feel free to come and visit our vibrant school by contacting the school office by phone 01634 832578 or email [email protected] and Mrs Cleall Harding, Mrs Hurst or Mrs White will only be too happy to help.

11th January 2019 Newsletter

Dear All,

Happy New Year! This is the first newsletter of 2019. We have a busy term planned so please do check out the dates including our open mornings which we will be holding for every year group in term 3. In the infant classes we will be focusing on how we deliver our Read Write Inc programme to give an insight to parents as to how the programme works in class. In KS2 we will be focusing on writing. How we “teach” the children to become proficient writers. All open mornings will begin at 9am and will give parents the opportunity to sit with their children and see school through their eyes– so if you like its “Come and see us… write”

We have also published the dates for parent consultations which will take place towards the end of term 4. These will be along the same format as last time taking place during the school day in one of the meeting rooms with children present bringing along their books to celebrate their great work.

Please check on the website and click onto your child’s page to see the areas being studied this term. Housekeeping letters and “Week Aheads..” are also being sent via Parentpay today. Please do read these. “Week Aheads” are sent out every Friday so that parents can see what their child will be studying for the following week to further support at home.

Well done to all of those children who did some Christmas home learning. A special well done to those children who took part in our “ Christmas Cracker Reading Challenge”. They will be given a special certificate in Mondays assembly and have a special party in the infant hall that afternoon. Their names have been published further in the newsletter

Talking of reading we have a brand new library in the infant Key stage 1 area of the school. It was fitted over the Christmas holidays and is stunning. See twitter for a picture.

Have a good weekend Mrs Kathy Sexton

Pupils are glad to be green

We are embracing myriad ways of keeping fit and healthy – including walking to school once a week through the KM Charity Team’s Active Wow (Walk on Wednesday) scheme and skipping for two minutes every day.
