28th June 2019 Newsletter

Dear all,

Today is sports day. Thank goodness the weather is fine and dry in what has been a rather damp summer so far. As in previous years we are using the field at St John Fisher school on the Maidstone Road site. The infants (Y1 and Y2)  will begin at 9:45am, at 12 noon they will be joined by the juniors (Y3,4,5 and 6) where we will all have a picnic lunch on the field. Then the infant children will return back to school by 1pm to free up space for the junior school to have their sports between 1:15pm and 3pm. The children will then return to school and be released back to their parents alongside the infant children as normal at 3:30pm. Hopefully good fun will be had by all.

Next Friday 5th July is our SUMMER FAIR. This is always a wonderful event with stalls, barbeque and Pimms, cakes , candy floss and various activities and displays performed by the children. This is always a lovely community event. It will begin straight after school at 3:30pm– lets hope the weather is kind to us.

As a school we will be working on a new School Improvement Plan with aims and actions to keep improving the school and moving it on. Our current plan is on the school website under the Our School tab. We have sent home a form we would like parents to complete with ideas that they have which they would like inputted on the plan. Its really important to have parent input into this. We obviously have responses to parent questionnaires but this is another opportunity for parent’s voice to be heard. Please do return these to school as soon as possible by giving the form to your child to give to their teacher or just pass on to the reception at the front of the school.

Well done to our football team who came runners up yesterday in the Deanery football tournament in a nail biting finish that went to penalties against St Peters School

Have a lovely weekend– watch out– sizzling hot on Saturday!!

Mrs Sexton
