8th March 2019 Newsletter

Dear All,

We have had such a lovely week with Book Week. Our theme was Myths and Legends. The children did some lovely activities working with an author, attending a dance workshop and of course dressing up as a favourite Legend. I saw Aphrodite, princesses, unicorns etc and that was just the staff!!! Well done everyone and a special thanks to Miss Smart who organised the event.

We are now in the season of Lent which began on Ash Wednesday. The children went to mass and all received their ashes. Their behaviour was immaculate. We also had a special visitor from CAFOD who came to lead our assembly on Monday and spoke to us about the work the charity does around the world. Of course giving to charity as well as praying more and giving something up or fasting is all an important part of Lent. We will be covering more on this special season as the term goes on.

Next week is Science week with our theme this year being “journeys” and how science and particularly forces, make things move. The children will be doing experiments on this theme and taking part in various investigations in the infant hall and in the classroom.

Tuesday 12th March is our Parent Forum. This will begin from around 9am and is a chance for parents to meet both Mrs Collins and myself to ask any questions and to give your views about the school

Some of our children will be participating in the Medway Music Association Festival next Wednesday evening along with lots of other primary schools in Medway. This choral event will take place at the Central Theatre and we wish our children all the best of luck.

Have a safe weekend

Mrs Kathy Sexton
