Healthy Eating

Here at St Michaels RC Primary, your child’s growth, development and educational needs are important to us. A healthy and nutritious diet helps to contribute to their overall growth and decreases the risk of obesity and other health problems.

We have various initiatives in place to help to encourage healthy eating in our schools such as Breakfast Clubs and  Healthy Eating Packed Lunches. We also analyse Primary Menus and Secondary Menus to ensure that the correct balance of essential nutrients is met over the course of one week.

Lunchtimes at St Michaels

School Dinners- a copy of the menu for the week can be obtained from the school office. This year our meals are provided by The Contract Dining Company.

Special Dietary Requirements

However if your child has Special Dietary Requirements then this can also be accommodated.  More information on how we encourage healthy eating can be found in our Diet and Nutrition Policy.

Nut Free Zone

Please note that St Michael’s aims to practise a nut free policy although we recognise that this cannot be guaranteed. We aim to reduce the risk to those children and adults who may suffer an anaphylactic reaction if exposed to nuts to which they are sensitive.
