19th May 2017 Newsletter

Hello All,

Well done to Y2 who have started to do their SATs tests this week These tests are a lot more low key than the KS2 SATS with the children completing them in groups in their classrooms. The result of the actual tests is just a guide for the teachers to make their “teacher assessment” which is what is reported in the end of year report.

We have had Forest School Week, there are photos overleaf and some have also gone on Twitter. We had great fun even though the weather was changeable. Learning outdoors can be just as valuable for the children as learning in the classrooms allowing the children to discover new skills and develop ones they already have.

Next week is History week with each class studying a different decade of the 20th century. This culminates with the children being able to dress up next Friday in a costume of that decade. We’re all really excited about this, I look forward to seeing all the fashions of the time.

Tuesday 23rd May at 9am is our final Parent Forum of the academic year. The numbers for this have been growing steadily. You can see the minutes of previous meetings on the school website. The main item on the agenda is the results from our recent parent survey carried out during our parent evening at the end of last term.

Next Tuesday Y2 are out on their trip to the Rare Breeds centre, please ensure all permission slips are returned.

PA meeting Tuesday 23rd May at 2pm to discuss the summer fair here at the school. All are welcome.

Mrs K Sexton
