Hello All,

Another busy week at St Michaels– this is History Week! The children look fantastic dressed in the era of the decade that their class is studying– I especially like the 1970’s very psychedelic! The children have also acted out some aspects of their decade with the “One Day” company that we have used before for drama and they have learned a dance from their chosen period as well. A huge thanks must be extended to Miss Green for the dancing, Mrs Murphy who visited the school and presented in music and artefacts to the classes and to Mrs Dix for organising the week.

We also had school trips this week: year 2 went to the Rare Breeds Centre and enjoyed a ride on a tractor and a pig race of all things! Year 1 went to Hastings Aquarium and Y6 are this morning taking part in workshops in Rochester to do with the historic Battle of Medway

On Mondays assembly we centred our worship on Our Lady with May being the month of Our Lady and presented our Mary statue , which is now on our altar with flowers. This Sunday is Ascension Day and the following Sunday is Pentecost when the disciples received the Holy Spirit: two very important holy days in the church’s calendar.

The weather has been very hot and is due to remain so. Our sun policy is on the home page of our website. Please remember school sun hats, water bottles which can be refilled throughout the day and children should come to school already creamed up in sun tan lotion of a high factor to last throughout the day.

Next week is half term! Monday 5th June is an inset day so all children should return to school on Tuesday 6th June for the final term! Where has the time gone?

Have a good week Mrs K Sexton
